托儿机构倡议安省增加预算:孩子们不能再等

据Toronto Star新闻报导,在本周二的一次媒体发布会中,安省托儿机构及家长代表倡议安省在即将出台的政府预算中增加五亿加币的投资费用和2两亿加币的运营费用。发言人表示,安省托儿机构资源已经饱和,如果不增加预算,很难完成未来五年内容纳十万个名额的政府目标。

“还有两天政府就要发布新的预算,我们今天在这里倡议增加托儿机构预算,因为我们的孩子不能等了。”安省托儿协会公共政策专员Carolyn Ferns在发布会上说。

“安省一直有托儿危机,我们的托儿费用全国最高,却只能容纳四分之一的孩子。早教工作者的薪资和工作条件也远远跟不上他们为我们的社区所做的专业,重要的工作。因此我们很期待这次安省新预算,希望韦恩可以实现她在托儿工作上的承诺。”Ferns表示。

去年,民主党承诺从2017年开始,将新增十万个托儿名额,让安省家庭不仅能找到,而且负担得起托儿费用。
