警方指，周四早上接报Eglinton Avenue West夹Bathurst Street一间星巴克被人刑事毁坏，有人用海报和文字破坏餐厅。从社交媒体上发布的图片可见，商店的前门贴著“手上沾满鲜血”、“星巴克杀人”和“停止杀害婴儿”等字样。
多伦多警方仇恨犯罪部门拘捕多伦多居民Skigh Johnson，她被控一项刑事毁坏罪，定于2024年1月11日出庭。
警方现时仍在调查案件，但事件目前尚未被列为仇恨犯罪。如果确定事件是出于偏见、成见或仇恨，那么调查人员将咨询检察官，如果他们被指控并被定罪，法官在判刑时将考虑仇恨作为加重因素。
