中国打造庞大的人脸识别系统引发关注，如今印度也打算设置世界规模数一数二的人脸识别系统，以弥补警力不足之处。

总理莫迪的政府将于下月开始招标，透过全印度各地的监视器来蒐集资料，打造一个人脸识别系统。系统还将连结从护照到指纹等一切记录的资料，以协助警方寻找罪犯、失踪人口及无名尸比对。

莫迪政府称，此举是为弥补警力不足。印度是世界警力不足最严重的国家之一，平均七百二十四名公民才能配得一名警察。
