蔬果12脏 最好选有机!

虽然营养师指有机与非有机食品营养价值相差无几,但有些蔬果最好还是选吃有机的,例如所谓蔬果12脏(dirty dozen),据eatingwell网站指,12脏包括桃子、苹果、甜钟椒(sweet bell pepper)、芹菜、蜜桃(nectarine)、草莓、樱桃、小番茄(cherry tomato)、进口葡萄(特别是从智利进口的葡萄)、菠菜、黄瓜和番茄,因为生长过程中,非有机菜果农都大量施用杀虫剂。
值得注意的是,无论是加拿大还是美国,organic并不必须是百分之百有机,这也是北美媒体经常警告的“Organic doesn’t mean 100% organic”。

美国有机食品标准由美国农业部(United States Department of Agriculture,USDA)颁布,比加拿大早,规定也更为完善。美国有机食品标签主要分为4级,包括“100% Organic”即完全有机食品,主要用于蔬菜和水果;“Organic”即有机含量达95%以上;“Made with organic ingredients”指有机含量达70%,此类产品不贴“有机”标签,只能列表显示有机成分;“Containing organic ingredients”即有机含量低于70%,此类产品亦不能贴“有机”标签,只能列表。上述100%和95%以上有机食品可以贴上美国农业部的有机食品专用标签“USDA Organic”。
