CALLING THE FIRE DEPARTMENT 致電消防局
You are at home enjying your evening with your family. You look out of your living room window and see smoke pouring out of your neighbour’s garage. You rush to your telephone and call the Fire Department.
A: Fire Department.
B: I want to report a garage fire at 2208 Local Street.
A: Do you know if there’s anyone in the building?
B: No, I don’t think so. My neighbors use it for storage and they’re away on vacation.
A: A fire engine should be there any moment now. Would you please give me your name and phone number for our records? I’ll also need your neighbor’s name and telephone number.
晚上你在家與家人共享天倫，望出客廳窗外時看到鄰居的車房有煙冒出來，你便立即打電話到消防局去。
甲：消防局。
乙：我想報告洛奇街2208號的車房着火。
甲：你知不知道建築物內是否有人嗎？
乙：沒有，我想沒有。我的鄰居將車房用來儲物。他們正在渡假。
甲：消防車現在會隨時到達那裡。請你把你的姓名和電話號碼給我以作記錄，好嗎？還有我也需要你鄰居的姓名和電話號碼。
