【星岛综合报道】上周曾公开表示正考虑参选的列治文中（Richmond Centre）选区省议员陈瀚生（Hon Chan）周五（2日）宣布，决定不参加即将举行的卑诗省选，并呼吁中间及右翼阵营团结，以击败卑诗新民主党为首要目标。
省选候选人提名期将于明天（3日）下午1时截止。选举投票日为10月24日。
陈瀚生在社交媒体发声明，指上周宣布正认真考虑寻求连任时，选区内除新民主党候选人外，尚无其他候选人。他其后加紧筹备竞选，获得不少支持，并已收集足够签名办理提名，但最终决定不参选。
他表示，自己的首要目标一直是击败新民主党，“要做到这一点，我相信我们必须团结中间及右翼”阵营，因此决定不寻求连任。
Statement from Former Richmond Centre MLA Hon Chan Last week, I announced that I was seriously considering seeking re-election. At the time, there was no other candidate in the race besides the NDP candidate. Since then, I have been ramping up campaign preparations, receiving tremendous support and even gathering enough signatures for my nomination with Elections BC. However, my priority has always been to defeat the NDP. To do that, I believe we must unite the centre and the right. With that in mind, I have decided to step aside and will not be seeking re-election this term. Serving the community has been part of my life since I was young, through volunteering, almost two decades in broadcasting, and ultimately as your MLA. That commitment has never changed. I am proud of what we accomplished in just two years, from holding the government accountable to successfully pushing for funding for the much-needed Richmond City Centre elementary school, which was originally left out of Budget 2025. BC Ballot截至周五的资料显示，列治文中选区已有三名候选人完成登记，分别为卑诗保守党 Sacha Peter、卑诗新民主党姚君宪（Henry Yao），以及CanWest政党的陈卫平（Lawrence Chen）。陈瀚生未有登记。
陈瀚生今年3月被控袭击、勒颈袭击及恐吓，涉及2024年1月在列治文发生的事件，其后被逐出卑诗保守党党团。他否认指控，并已作不认罪答辩。他将于下周三（7日）再次出庭。案件尚未审讯，所有指控均未经法庭证实。
