孟晚舟曾經對律師說：「25年來，我兢兢業業地工作，如果這次能得釋放，我簡單的唯一心愿，就是和我的丈夫、女兒在一起。我已經好幾年都沒有讀過一本小說了。」

孟晚舟的律師還說，孟晚舟曾表示想要申請到Sauder商學院讀博士。

法官宣布休庭，說：今天東部時間5點（加西時間2點），會判決孟晚舟能否保釋。
