任人取用的personal data
Personal data是个人信息。姓名、性别、年龄、住址、电话号码，身份证号码、护照和回乡证号码等，都是重要的personal data，让不法之徒得到，就可以做很多伤害人的事，例如用偷回来的资料申请信用卡，大肆花费，当然不会找数，受害人就算可以证明是因为identity theft（身份被盗窃），善后也十分费神。
我们的个人资料，很多已被上载到包括政府机构、银行、学校、商业机构等的电脑系统。就是出外旅游住酒店，也须提供很多个人资料。
提供个人资料不是今天才发生的事，但以往资料记录于实体档桉中，要大量的偷和抄不是那么容易，但IT世代，一切都改变了。
防盗系统不可靠
有人认为，机构的电脑资料库一定有周密的防盗系统，资料不会被偷。但有关资料泄漏的新闻却接二连三的来，令人怀疑机构保障你的personal data，就算有心都可能无力。
Reuters（路透社）报道：
Marriott International said hackers stole about 500 million records from its Starwood Hotels reservation system in an attack that began four years ago, exposing personal data of customers including some payment card numbers.
著名的国际酒店集团，年中招呼的顾客不计其数。Reservation是订房，reservation system则是订房的系统，内里储存的客户资料多得难以估计，而发现被盗的资料档桉，并不是以千、万或甚至以百万计，而是有5亿个。
Hacker是黑客，非法进入人家电脑系统的窃匪。被hackers偷走的customer personal data包括︰”passport details, phone numbers and email addresses. For some others, it could include credit card information”。资料不断被盗达四年之久，酒店到九月才发现，最近才公开，保障有多周全，大家可以自行判断。
特首信贷网上看
就算没有hackers，有些个人资料任何人在网上有点耐性做点research都可以找到，包括特首林郑月娥的信贷记录。《英文虎报》最近的报道：
A noted credit reporting（信用报告）agency has suspended all online credit report services, after a journalist managed to obtain the credit report of Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor from the company by inputting personal details available online.
Noted解well-known、famous，例如︰The school is noted for its art program.（这学校以艺术课程闻名。）”Noted credit reporting agency”就是着名的信用报告公司。
报道又说：
However, it was found that the service has a surprisingly（惊奇地） low security protection and anyone can easily check the detailed（详尽的） credit report of another person just by inputting his HKID number and some simple personal information.
记者找到特首的身份证号码输入查询网站，资料就和盘託出，简单得很，提供的敏感个人资料包括”phone number, address, loan and overdue payment histories”（电话号码、地址、债务细节，还有过期还钱的记录等）。怎不令人心寒？
