智利民众抗议地铁加价引发的示威持续,至今造成超过20人死亡,7000多人被捕。检察官说,正调查800多宗有关警方使用过份武力及强奸示威者的指控,并会寻求法院授权拘留涉嫌虐待示威者的14名警员。

智利总统皮涅拉(Sebastián Piñera,上图)承诺,会以应对暴徒同样的力度,起诉滥权的警察及士兵,强调任何时候及任何情况下,都完全尊重人权,他早前宣布进入紧急状态时,已经要求武装部队遵守国际使用武力的规定。

正担任联合国人权事务高级专员的智利前总统巴切莱特(Michelle Bachelet),亦派出小组到智利,与怀疑受害人会面。
