曾被當為性變態代名詞的著名連環強姦殺人犯貝爾納多（Paul Bernardo）轉眼已在獄中度過25年，10月17日星期三將提出假釋申請。

貝爾納多的辯護律師表示，他在獄中表現良好， 對自己的所作所為感到悔恨。律師認為，負責審批假釋申請的委員會將根據他在獄中的表現，以及他是否會對公眾構成威脅這兩個標準來做出決定。

貝爾納多從80年代末期開始作案，直到1993年被捕。他承認強姦過14名女性。
