卑詩自由黨證實，基隆拿西選區(Kelowna West)省議員斯圖偉( Ben Stewart，圖)，已經自動退黨。卑詩選舉處（Elections B.C.）較早時表示，正在關注斯圖偉涉及的一宗政治捐獻事件。

省自由黨未有透露事件詳情，僅表示斯圖偉已於周四致函選舉處，知會有關變動。斯圖偉本人則未有回應傳媒查詢。不過，他的省議員個人網頁資料，已經更新為獨立議員。

斯圖偉於2009年首次獲選為省議員，2013年成功連任，但其後「讓位」予在溫哥華格雷岬選區(Vancouver-Point Grey)落敗的時任黨領簡蕙芝(Cristy Clark)。直至2017年，簡蕙芝辭職，他在補選中重奪議席。
