中國打造龐大的人臉識別系統引發關注，如今印度也打算設置世界規模數一數二的人臉識別系統，以彌補警力不足之處。

總理莫迪的政府將於下月開始招標，透過全印度各地的監視器來蒐集資料，打造一個人臉識別系統。系統還將連結從護照到指紋等一切記錄的資料，以協助警方尋找罪犯、失蹤人口及無名屍比對。

莫迪政府稱，此舉是為彌補警力不足。印度是世界警力不足最嚴重的國家之一，平均七百二十四名公民才能配得一名警察。
